Phibro, a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, is an international commodities trading firm whose origins date to 1901. Phibro trades in liquid markets utilizing industry-standard instruments. Trades are executed on futures exchanges and in the over-the-counter physical and swaps and options markets.

The company’s trading activities are organized into four main groups: Oil, Natural Gas, Metals and Agricultural/Other commodities. Phibro’s oil trading focuses primarily on liquid markets Brent Blend/Forties/Oseberg (BFO), West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and Dubai/Oman crudes and refined oil products such as heating oil and gasoline. The Natural Gas Trading Group trades natural gas in all U.S. regions, with a particular focus on the Gulf Coast and the Northeast. The company’s metals trading focuses on both precious and base metals in the New York, London and Zurich markets. Phibro’s trading in agricultural and other commodities focuses on the various grain markets as well as coffee, sugar and cocoa in the New York, Chicago and London markets.
